For the first time in a long time it’s focused on getting her mo-jo back and helping others reclaim theirs! Yes, “mo-jo” or simply put, that magic that every woman possesses.
You see, women are the most magical creations God has placed on this earth. Not only do women think, work and do just about anything anyone else can – but women give and transform life! And for most women giving the gift of life isn’t just about having a child but, it is about nurturing those around us by literally breathing energy into their dreams.
Therein lies the dilemma. Women are really good at giving away power but, what about reclaiming it?
Ever watched a lightening bug? They blink through darkness so others can see yet their light is always behind them—where they can’t see. Cheryl’s lightening bug influence launched phenomenal careers to stardom. Yet, after years of caring for everyone else, her light began to dim.
“Okay, truthfully – my light went out,” Cheryl says. “I was so busy birthing and transforming other people’s lives, I skimped on my own and my light just shut down. At forty-something, I found myself a bit out of sorts from the trials of being mommy, wife, best friend and career maker.
While lying in a hospital room wondering how to recharge my life, I realized that I knew how to pull the extra out of other ordinary people but I wasn’t sure if I was capable of pulling the extra out of me! I was stuck in the middle of two mountains: mountain “high” where I’d been successful lighting other people’s fire, and mountain “maybe” where I saw the possibility of igniting my own. Yep, you got it. I was in a valley.”
This valley was a place between “I’m” and “Possible” and it’s where Cheryl found purpose. Determined to reclaim her power she began to educate herself on living healthier and happier and created the Reclaiming Your Power element of Sporty Girl Fitness as a path to empower women through self-help and discovery.
“It takes a lot of work to get through the valleys and it always involve choice: spiritual growth, faith, and strength. Through my personal healing I will serve as your guide and inspiration to reclaim your power and find your story to re-connect to your power within.”
Reclaiming The Power will document the stories of ordinary women; filming their extraordinary challenges of coping with the spiritual, financial, physical and emotional trials of everyday life and witness these women rediscover themselves through Sporty Girl Fitness. These compelling stories will show where a common bond is shared in human interest stories of the journey of those returning to reclaim their power and encouraging others to join the movement.
It’s not just about having a story that makes a difference. The power comes from sharing it. Reclaiming The Power provides this vehicle.
With contemporary wisdom, common sense and lots of humor, Cheryl has created a story-sharing format that motivates participants to transform their lives through self-determination and common bonds.
In the beginning it’s tiring and painful... Then one day you walk past the mirror and notice that you look better… Actually, “you look GOOD!”… you feel better and from there everything just seems to fall into place.
But, how do we get to the point of feeling good – even before we achieve that look? Cheryl helps women break through the bondage that holds them back through her “I Know What I Know” series helping every woman discover what they know as well.
Fitness is not just about losing weight; that can occur in any program. Reclaiming your Power is about mind, body and spiritual fitness and includes journaling, reflection and interactive programs that encourage participants to share good times and fun with family and friends.
A message from Cheryl…
“I’m on a journey to reclaim what’s rightfully mine. The common bond between most women walking the Earth is that we want to feel good about ourselves and we want to share our gifts of being beautiful, smart and healthy – inside and out.
It’s not just about how many sit-ups we do or what we eat everyday; It’s about exercising the muscle that is most difficult to train – THE MIND. It’s the switch that we have to turn on daily to keep our power flowing—to keep the light on and I’m fighting to make sure this muscle is worked to its’ fullest.
It’s also the place where no one can take anything away from you—because in your mind (and in my mind) we know what we know! When we apply ourselves to that principle, the ‘mo-jo’ kicks in and we’re released from the bondage.
Once the light is on, the fight is on, and we can win. We can win in careers, finances, spirituality, home, work, play – we can win it all.
I’m on a journey to reclaim what’s rightfully mine. Where are you headed?”
